The Taste of Hope
“Serving the food insecure in our community”

Our Story
Tambra L. Stillwell, CEO

It has been said that one’s purpose, with God, can be determined when your passion meets your talent.  I have always cared about others and have always loved to cook and bake.  So, it was a no brainer to figure out my purpose- create and build an organization that can serve food insecure folks in our community.  Thus, in 2021 the Taste of Hope, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit group was formed.

The original vision was a sit-down type restaurant, but I believe the Lord has shown me that we can be more effective if we went to the people.  My ultimate goal is having a food truck operation that does not have a “food line” charity appearance, but is very accessible, recognizable and enjoyable for our guests.

That part of the vision is still formulating.  In the meantime, we are providing an exciting outdoor experience in local neighborhood parks where food insecure families live.  What better way to provide free homemade meals in a fun setting where “patrons” do not feel stigmatized.

I am very fortunate to have family and friends who volunteer their time, talent and treasure to make this ministry work.  They invest an effort of love into precious folks who may not know when their next meal will come.  This blesses me and I know it touches the heart of God.

I truly believe this is what the Lord has put on my heart for my years beyond work.  Dave, my husband, is very supportive and knows that I would not be one to sit on the porch in a rocking chair after retirement.
